B&W Illustrations; 167 pages; Schorsch bookplate. Width: 4.25" Height: 6.5". Bound in marbled calf leather. Spine deteriorating. Front cover attached by a thread. Anonymous collection of emblems of love both divine and human was first published in 1626 in Latin and French. The polyglot edition first appeared in 1629 and was re-published several times. This was the last re-issue in 1670. The work is lavishly illustrated with 40 engraved plates. Marbled endpapers. The text block is solid. The pages and plates show light age toning and occasional marginal spotting. One ppictured plate has apparently been trimmmed and reinserted. Pagination would lead one to believe that this was published without the last plate called for #41 Rauiffment de l'Amour.
