Pair of wrought iron shackles, said to have been brought back from the war by an officer in the Tenth Legion, The New York 57th [or the 56th? ]. Flat surfaces have ODD designs crudely scratched into them. These incised designs are probably West African. Condition: some light rust- generally clean. Sound.
