Color and b/w; 504 pages; Volume is bound in quarter dark brown leather and brown cloth over beveled boards. The spine and the front cover have stamped gilt lettering and ornamental designs. Decorative designs on the front cover are blind stamped on the rear cover. The book shows external wear, with light soiling and mild rubbing to the covers. The binding is sound. This volume has gilt edges and moire endpapers. A small label with the printed name A. I. Porter and the number 79 in ink can be seen on the front pastedown. Pages exhibit sporadic light foxing. This work contains a tissue-guarded frontispiece depicting the Court House in Salem, a double-page color map of the county and numerous plates offering views of towns, buildings, residences, farms, landmarks, as well as portraits of prominent citizens.
