Lithograph; 8 volumes ranging from 1836 to 1888. Some with lengthy written indexes ranging from 4 to 6 pages. 12 x 17.5" Atlases containging plates and, after 1874- descriptions as well. Contains mainly architectural details but also buildings and plans. There were apparently 58 volumes printed with 8 of them being 2 in one. The Allgemeine Bauzeitung was founded in 1836 by the architect Ludwig Förster and was the most important architectural publication of the Austrian monarchy. It was shut down in 1918. Some modest spotting towards the ends but generally clean, All volumes are soundly bound. For decades the most important publication organ of the construction industry in the Austrian monarchy . Appeared quarterly and contained numerous [many hundreds], illustrations for architects, engineers, decorators et cetera. 3/4 leather over covered boards.
