Box is Near fine and contents as new. Only one volume has been opened. All are in original plastic bags. Seven Volumes all as new. In original clamshell cardboard shipping boxes in a sturdy Pine box, Jackson was the former Curator of Maritime HISTORY at the Division of Transportation Smithsonian Institution. Each volume is devoted to a particular subset of Marine Ships. For instance Vol I pertains to [diagrams of] /Ocean going Barks/- Brigs and Brigantines/- Ocean Going Vessels- Ship Rigged/ Offshore Schooners. There is a list of contents in Vol I and an index in Vol VII. Included are Diagrams, Drawings, Pictorial Works, Designs and Plans, etc. The box is apr 21x21x26" and the books are about 20x25" with the overall weight being close to 200 pounds. Vol. 1-4 East Coast; Vol. 5 Great Lakes; Vol. 6-7 West Coast Vessels. The heavily constructed box is very sturdy and is complete with it's top. Each book weighs 20 pounds more or a bit more. The case makes a handsome centerpiece for any room. Many of the leaves are foldouts which are 18x37". Over 1000 scale drawings.
