Nathanael Greene. Best known for leading the spirited defense of Fort Mercer in the 1777 Battle of Red Bank, and for leading the African American 1st Rhode Island Regiment during the Revolutionary War, Mouunted in an early American period frame with basket weave design and contemporary nials and wood board backing. Matting heavily toned and print less so .
